It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the IEEE International Symposium on Emerging Metaverse (ISEMV) 2025, which will take place from 19-20 October, 2025, in Honolulu, Hawaii, co-located with ICCV 2025.
Now in its second year, ISEMV continues to serve as a unique and timely forum for researchers, technologists, industry leaders, and visionaries to explore the rapidly evolving landscape of the Metaverse—where the boundaries between physical and digital realities blur to reshape how we interact, work, learn, and create.
Our 2025 theme, “Where Virtual Meets Reality: The Rise of the Metaverse,” reflects the convergence of technologies such as extended reality (XR), AI, 5G, blockchain, and digital twins, as well as the profound societal and ethical questions they raise. From immersive education and remote collaboration to digital identity and equity in virtual spaces, we aim to foster rich dialogue, inspire innovation, and chart pathways toward a more inclusive and impactful digital future.
ISEMV 2025 will feature:
- Peer-reviewed technical papers published in IEEE Xplore,
- Selected abstract presentations highlighting emerging research and innovative ideas,
- Invited talks and panels featuring global thought leaders,
- Live demonstrations and student competition, and
- Opportunities to connect with a multidisciplinary community shaping the next era of human experience.
